Woke up at five this morning, and headed outside for a fasted-state exercise. Its a different feeling when you know you are not going to eat afterwards, and your stomach is already empty. I warmed up with jump rope for 12 minutes straight, then got into my light kb workout.
The body does feel different when you train in this way; lighter, and more aware of what my musculature is doing. A very important key point is to drink lots of water as you can get dehydrated very fast ( especially since rainy season has already hit Japan and its humid 24 hours a day now).
Early in the morning you are reminded of how quiet Tokyo can be, and how, if we wanted to, we can always find time to take care of ourselves by cutting back on the tv in the evening and heading to bed a little earlier. Right now I am pretty inspired though, I am going to an IKFF CKT 1 instructor training on July 1st-2nd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and am excited to be rubbing shoulders with other like minded enthusiasts and to get some quality instruction from people who are as passionate about the sport as I am.
Life certainly isn’t easy, but if you roll with the punches and give back as good as you receive, opportunities do come.
Cheers to you all- have a great weekend and make sure you do something for you!
